Who we are
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the remnants of Typhoon Halong hit western Alaska, causing a devastating storm surge that flooded villages and displaced over 1,000 people. Evacuation flights were unable to accommodate pets.
Bethel Friends of Canines, Best Friends Animal Rescue, and The August Fund have been feverishly working to airlift dogs out of evacuated communities and reunite them with their families. As of December 12, at least 218 dogs have been rescued.
For the love of dogs, please help us help them.
